Borra Week Day 01: Day Off

I DID IT…..mind you I screwed up everywhere but hey at least I posted something in time? There’s not enough pillows. I guess Bo beat her in a Pokemon battle with the Endeavor/FocusSash/Quick Attack trick or something and she’s like “……….you can’t just do that Bo” Spoiler Alert: She pushes him off the bed.

For some reason he can’t stop the stupid grin that spreads on his face, even though he’s quite aware that’s practically the same as poking an angry armadillo bear with a stick.

In the face.

Repeatedly.

“Y’know you can’t use all attacks, riiight?” Keeping the DS balanced in the palm of his right hand, he pokes her soft stomach with his belly, wanting to draw up her shirt and kiss her belly button while he’s at it, maybe tickle the fine, downy hairs just beneath it. “You need some of those whatchamallit status moves, too.”

Her pout causes him to curl his toes and dig his heels into the mattress in his anticipation of her inevitable push-off-the-bed manoeuvre. “You beat me with a rattata,” she says accusingly, her sapphire eyes glinting.

His grin grows somehow wider. “Yup.”

“A level one rattata, Bo-lin.”

“Yup.”

Her eyes narrow further. He braces himself for impact, still unable to wipe the stupid grin off his stupid face. “Against my level one-hundreds.”

“Sounds right.”

“The ones that know the most powerful moves ever?”

“When will you learn, Korra?” Stroking an imaginary, he mimics Tenzin’s graven voice. “Being a Pokémon master isn’t all about fight - “

Dropping her DS - it bounces onto the pillow and beeps urgently - she lunges at him. The sudden motion surprises him, and he inhales, his preparations evaporating as her hands push into him, her muscles taut and bursting with effort, her sheer strength propelling him off of the bed. One moment, he’s surrounded by the warm softness of koala sheep-fleece pillows; the next, there’s absolutely nothing beneath him but air.

And then hard floor.

His DS soaring away from him and alighting thankfully on a blanket, he lands directly on his tail-bone. The impact disorients him slightly, and by the time he’s able to wave off the lizard crows flying in a circle around his head, she’s leaning over him, lips curved into a smug smirk.

“Korra used Strength,” she crows triumphantly, quirking an eyebrow as if daring him to fight back.

Instead, he laughs. “Critical hit! It’s super effective!” Before she can respond, he scrambles back onto the bed, wincing as his left knee connects with the wooden frame, and leaps onto her, pinning her against the blankets. From his position over her, he smiles cattily, delighting in the faint blush reddening her cheeks. “Bolin used Charm.”

“Korra’s attack decreased sharply,” she responds breathlessly. Her exhalation warms his nose when she lifts her head, raising herself up from the bed. “Korra used … Sweet Kiss.” Her lips are even warmer than her breath as she presses them against his; he can’t help but deepen the kiss, his tongue sliding over the opening between her lips, and his eyes closed involuntarily from the heat and wetness within.

“Bolin became confused,” he whispers back into the kiss, though in reality he isn’t confused at all. He knows exactly what he’s feeling. Love. “Bolin used Attract… . He hurt himself in his confusion.”

Through half-lidded eyes he watches the way pain well up her blue pools, no doubt remembering the six months she spent blatantly dating his brother in front of him. A shiver runs through her body. She pulls away from the kiss, and he is left with a feeling of emptiness within him, like something has been taken unfairly away. “Korra used Attract.”

A smile curving his lips, he leans down and kisses her again, trying to contain the faint moan rising in his throat, engrossed instead in the beauty of the moment, their bodies touching, their spirits touching, their hearts beating as one. His eyelids flutter. “Bolin became infatuated.”

Her eyes sparkle.

“Korra fell in love.”
